Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced and driven Test Automation Engineer to join their team in a brand-new position and department based in Southern DC, located near the metro. This role is an exciting opportunity to lay the groundwork for testing processes and workflows, transitioning from manual testing to automation at a pace that suits the firm's evolving needs.

As a senior Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in setting up processes, defining how to grade and evaluate testing effectiveness, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) for successful implementations. Your focus will be entirely on UI testing, leveraging your expertise to ensure robust and efficient testing practices. The company prides themselves on their diverse collaborative culture, working as a team to solve complex business problems, deals and disputes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manual testing processes, transitioning to automation over time.

  • Set up workflows, testing criteria, and evaluation methods to ensure high-quality software testing.

  • Establish KPIs to measure and improve testing effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing practices into the development lifecycle.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in test automation.

Required Skills:

  • 7-8 years minimum experience in software testing, with a focus on UI testing.
  • Bachelors Degree from a US College
  • Strong proficiency in C# or Java.

  • Extensive experience in manual testing, with a demonstrated ability to transition to automation.

  • Proven track record of setting up testing processes and workflows.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Interview Process:

  • First round: 1-hour interview with HR.

  • Second round: 30-40 minute interview with the Director of IT Architecture.
