This company in the industrial robotics space is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team. This will be a 3-6 month contract (30-40 hours/week) with the potential for conversion to full-time. The role will have a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days/week in their office in Cambridge, MA with the rest of each week being remote.
The company provides a robot to clients that is able to autonomously unload trucks at warehouses to ease the physical burden on human warehouse workers. You’ll be writing for a variety of end users such as technical personell on the client side, warehouse workers, and maintenance workers repairing the robot. This is an opportunity to work hands on with a cutting-edge industrial robotics product that utilizes machine learning, computer vision, advanced sensors, and AI to accomplish its tasks.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer)
- 5+ YOE in Technical Writing
- Experience working with robotics devices or industrial automation products
- Experience using OnShip CAD with little to no assistance from engineers
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to interview technical staff and deepen your understanding of the product
- Create and maintain consistent style guide across technical documents, building off of existing company and brand guidelines
- Write manuals and documents for operating, training, maintenance and more for a variety of end users
- Work closely with product management, engineering, QA, and business leaders to gain a deep understanding of the product and its parts
- Ensure that documentation is compliant with relevant RIA and electrical safety standards
- Interface with field engineers at customer sites to ensure that documentation is accurate and easy to consume
