A company based in Philadelphia (100% remote) is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Cloud Administrator with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join this remote team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in cloud administration and gain valuable experience in managing cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, RDS databases, and VPCs.

  2. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor cloud resources and performance metrics to identify areas for optimization and cost-saving opportunities. Implement best practices for resource utilization and performance tuning.

  3. Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance standards within AWS environments, including IAM policies, security groups, and encryption mechanisms. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance.

  4. Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and automation workflows using tools such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and Terraform to streamline deployment and management tasks. Automate routine administrative tasks to improve efficiency and scalability.

  5. Troubleshooting and Support: Respond to incidents and service requests related to AWS infrastructure, providing timely resolution and proactive communication with stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions.

  6. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation for AWS configurations, procedures, and best practices. Share knowledge and expertise with team members to promote continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience or internship in cloud administration or AWS-related roles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPCs.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
