Tier 1 Support Engineer (Temporary)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries from the user community for business applications.
  • Actively participate in projects / initiatives that either directly or indirectly impact user experience
  • Help install, configure, administer, monitor, troubleshoot, manage, and support all internal users’ hardware (printers, mobile devices, laptops, and VOIP system) and software (operating systems and enterprise/non-enterprise applications)
  • Records IT issues, including troubleshooting steps taken, documents resolutions for future reference, and promptly responds to IT issues, as assigned
  • Provides timely and effective user support by remote assistance or in-person
  • Assists with management of user accounts, mailboxes, user folders, permissions, and network group policies
  • Image and deploy laptops, printers, and additional office machines in a primarily Windows environment
  • Analyzing root-cause application issues, identifying their severity, and proposing fixes
  • Owning customer issues from initial report to resolution, collaborating cross-functionally to fix the problem, and communicating with customers regularly regarding issue status
  • Collaborating with other Support Engineers to identify high priority issues and engage the relevant business teams and stakeholders.
  • Perform & Test routine end-user data backups and restores.
  • Identify, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on workstations.
  • Schedule and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations.
  • Manage end-user accounts, permissions, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices for security and data protection.
  • Develop, document, and maintain processes, procedures, and associated training plans for appropriate use (eg. Knowledge bases).
  • Accommodate remote work environment: deploy machines to newly hired employees, replacement machines; Employee on-boarding and off-boarding
What are the qualifications to apply:
  • Experience supporting end users in a corporate environment
  • Strong experience in Windows operating systems
  • An excellent understanding of computer hardware. Working knowledge of network hardware and peripheral equipment
  • Ability to send/receive frequent packages at home
  • Basic Understanding of networking concepts and familiarity with Telecom technologies
  • Working knowledge of identity management and SSO, and MFA
  • Experience supporting enterprise security products
  • Proven ability to leverage critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues and requests in a corporate environment
  • Strong experience with administration of Microsoft cloud technologies: Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure AD, Intune, Autopilot
  • Experience in Staffing industry applications (CRM/ATS) a plus.
  • Strong ability to work independently (remote). Ability to work in the Boston office periodically.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
