Azure Cloud Engineer

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be essential in the creation, execution, and management of our Azure cloud infrastructure. You'll closely collaborate with our Azure Lead, development, operations, and security teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environment. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Azure infrastructure, cloud security, infrastructure as code (IaC), and a dedication to continuous learning and enhancement.

The company is located in Reston, VA and will be 5 days on site a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of Azure resources.
  • Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) utilizing tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Collaborate with team members to configure and deploy solutions both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues escalated from Help Desk or arising during design and development.
  • Stay updated with Azure technologies and industry trends for continuous enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
  • Experience supporting M365, Intune, and IAM is advantageous.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Profound understanding of Azure Services Models (Serverless, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Expertise in cloud security best practices, compliance (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure Policy), and Azure Cost Optimization.
  • Possession of Azure certifications (Azure Administrator minimum).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration aptitude.
