Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

The company is located in Reston, VA and the candidate will need to come on-site 5 days a week.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Support the development, implementation, and oversight of security measures and controls to safeguard our M365 and Microsoft Azure cloud-based systems, infrastructure, and security frameworks.
• Contribute significantly to our Data Security Program by orchestrating the deployment, setup, and administration of data security protection technologies, including Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Access Security Broker, and data classification.
• Act as a security consultant for various spontaneous security initiatives driven by business and Information Technology advancements.
• Collaborate on security engineering initiatives involving other cyber security platforms like Security Information and Event Management, Endpoint Detection and Response, and Vulnerability Management.
• Assist in formulating and reinforcing security policies, standards, and procedures to uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
• Evaluate and integrate new security technologies, tools, and methodologies into our existing framework.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Over 5 years of security engineering experience in a dynamic and diverse large enterprise setting.
• More than 3 years of engineering and technical expertise with Microsoft cloud security technologies, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Defender, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Proficient in deploying, configuring, and managing data security protection technologies such as Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Access Security Broker, and data classification.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Committed to continuous improvement, security process engineering, and operational excellence.
• Thorough grasp of cybersecurity principles, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
