Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview: My client is seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer who will play a pivotal role in both API and microservices development, as well as handling crucial infrastructure tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either Go or Python and a deep understanding of cloud-native technologies and database systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with large-scale data and gain exposure to data analytics and engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop APIs and microservices to support visa and green card application processing.
• Implement and maintain robust infrastructure solutions using one of the following (but not limited to) Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Argo.
• Work with various databases and experience using said databases such as (but not limited to) SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, or Kafka.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and ensure end-to-end system functionality.
• Continuously optimize application performance and scalability.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in either Go or Python; familiarity with both is advantageous.
• Strong experience in building and deploying scalable backend services.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with a local team.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, etc.
• Previous exposure to machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PySpark, PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Python data libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.
