Senior SAP S/4HANA Implementation Troubleshooting Lead

Atlanta based firm seeking a seasoned technical SAP S/4HANA leader to support the Program Management and Solution Architecture Team for their greenfield SAP S/4HANA Implementation.

This is a 6-12 month contract in the Dunwoody, GA area that requires 3 days per week onsite.

Job Summary:

  • Experienced SAP S/4HANA Task Force and Firefighting Lead
  • Frontline leader responsible for quickly addressing and resolving critical system or process/design issues (“firefighting”) and orchestrating cross-functional task forces to mitigate risks and ensure the smooth deployment and operation of SAP S/4HANA

Key Responsibilities:

• Firefighting Leadership: Lead rapid response teams to troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents in SAP S/4HANA during the implementation and post-go-live phase.

• Task Force Coordination: Organize and lead cross-functional task forces to address complex system challenges, integrating functional and technical expertise to solve problems quickly and effectively.

• Issue Resolution: Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to swiftly resolve issues related to system integration, data migration, and performance.

• Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis for critical system failures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences.

• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks or bottlenecks in the system and engage appropriate teams to mitigate issues before they impact the business.

• Escalation Management: Serve as the main point of contact for high-severity incidents and manage escalation processes to ensure timely resolution.

• Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on issue status, risks, and resolution plans, ensuring transparency and alignment across all stakeholders.


Key Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in SAP project management, with at least 5 years specifically in SAP S/4HANA implementations (ideally Greenfield projects).

• SAP Expertise: In-depth understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, modules, and integration points, with experience in troubleshooting complex system issues.

• Task Force Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments to resolve critical technical and functional challenges.

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to perform root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions.

• Project Management: Familiarity with SAP Activate Methodology.

• Technical Background: Hands-on experience with SAP Basis, infrastructure management, and Private Cloud environments preferred.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP S/4HANA certification.

• Experience with integration of third-party tools and applications (e.g., SuccessFactors, Oracle EPM, Coupa).

• Prior experience with SAP Private Cloud infrastructure management.

• Experience in high-severity issue management and root cause analysis frameworks.
