They're seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with a deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems and Yocto build systems. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of custom embedded Linux distributions for our robotic platforms. You’ll work closely with hardware, systems, and robotics teams to deliver robust, production-grade software on resource-constrained devices.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain custom Linux distributions using Yocto Project (including custom layers, recipes, and BSPs).

Integrate and configure embedded software components such as device drivers, bootloaders, system services, and middleware.

Optimize system performance, startup times, memory usage, and power efficiency.

Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to bring up new board platforms and support peripherals.

Automate build, packaging, and deployment pipelines for embedded software artifacts.

Monitor system health and develop diagnostic tools and logs for debugging and field support.

Ensure software quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and CI/CD integration.

Contribute to open-source software where applicable and help maintain internal toolchains and build environments.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of experience developing embedded Linux systems with a strong emphasis on Yocto.

Proficiency in C/C++, shell scripting, and Python for embedded development.

Strong knowledge of Linux internals, bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot), kernel configuration, and device trees.

Experience with cross-compilation, hardware bring-up, and board support packages.

Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet.

Comfortable using version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools for embedded environments.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or real-time control applications.

Knowledge of secure boot, OTA updates, or containerization (e.g., Docker on embedded systems).

Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and integration with embedded Linux.

Experience with build infrastructure tools like BitBake, Buildroot, or OpenEmbedded.
