Senior DevOps Engineer

Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid | US Citizenship or Green Card Required)
Location: Hybrid in Baltimore, MD

A mission-driven research and development organization supporting NASA is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to drive infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline development across its enterprise applications. The role involves integrating secure software practices, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code within a highly collaborative technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.

• Define infrastructure using Terraform to automate consistent deployments.

• Develop and maintain Docker containers; manage Kubernetes clusters via Rancher or similar tools.

• Manage source code (GitHub) and artifact repositories (e.g., Harbor).

• Integrate security checks and vulnerability scanning into development pipelines.

• Use Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.

• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams; promote DevSecOps best practices.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years in DevOps, system engineering, or SRE roles.

• Strong Linux administration background.

• Expertise in Terraform, Python scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible.

• Deep knowledge of CI/CD and GitOps principles.

Preferred Experience:

• GitLab/GitLab CI, Helm Charts, Prometheus, Grafana, Robusta, Metal LB, Cluster Autoscaler, Valero, Rancher RKE2.

• Additional scripting in JavaScript.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
