Our mission is to revolutionize the warehousing industry by developing state-of-the-art robotic systems that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. They are seeking a highly experienced Director of Robotics Software Engineering to lead our software engineering team in building next-generation warehouse robots.
The Director of Robotics Software Engineering will drive the software development efforts for our warehousing robotics platform. This leadership role requires a visionary with a deep understanding of robotics, warehouse automation, and software engineering principles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading high-performing teams, designing scalable software architectures, and delivering innovative robotics solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within robotics or warehouse automation.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex robotics software systems in a commercial environment.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Expertise in robotics software frameworks (e.g., ROS), control systems, and real-time software development.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse automation technologies and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and innovatively.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with machine learning and AI techniques applied to robotics
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and their application in robotics systems.
- Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations related to robotics in warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with robotic hardware and integration of software with sensors and actuators.
- Experience in scaling software systems for mass production and deployment in large-scale warehouse environments.
- Strong network within the robotics and automation industry, with the ability to attract top talent and foster industry partnerships.
