Our client is seeking a Firmware Manager with expertise in IoT, cloud integration, and low-level C development for a full-time hybrid position based in Danvers, MA.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a dynamic team of skilled professionals, guiding and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in system design, engineering, and architecture.
  • Expertise in C and C++ programming.
  • Profound understanding of electrical concepts, with the ability to interpret hardware schematics and conduct board-level debugging.
  • High-level comprehension of modern distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership, dedication, and commitment.
  • Positive team player with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, multicultural team environment spanning multiple locations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with FreeRTOS and/or ZephyrRTOS is advantageous.
  • Bonus points for experience in CircuitPython, TinyGo, and Rust.
  • Strong grasp and practical experience in IoT communication technologies (BLE/Zigbee/Thread, TCP/IP, MQTT, TLS/SSL, cryptographic standards).
  • AWS experience is a plus.
  • Collaboration experience in cross-functional teams across multiple products is beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality firmware for various embedded devices, languages, and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with core hardware teams to validate and test product designs.
  • Work closely with field and developer relations teams to understand customers' needs and identify areas for firmware enhancement to improve customer experiences and use cases.
  • Support and enhance testing efforts organization-wide, prioritizing quality from proof of concept to production code.
  • Engage with and influence multiple engineering teams simultaneously, participating in technical discussions across customer, community, engineering, and product teams.
