Job Description A client of mine is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with a strong technical background. This institution provides modeling and simulation training for the Federal Government. They have been developing and integrating simulation-based training and running processes that enable cyber training for the multi-domain task force. This individual will be responsible for upholding the cybersecurity stance of Department of 

Defense (DoD) information systems. This is a full-time position in Orlando, FL.
In this role, you will be a vital member, working closely with a team of highly regarded security experts, and making significant contributions. Candidates will address a range of architectural structures, categorizations, and technologies. Required Skills & Experience
  • Profound grasp of enterprise security principles and optimal practices
  • Extensive technical proficiency in administering at least one of the following infrastructure components:
    • Networking
    • Windows (SHB, HBSS)
    • Linux (RHEL, Kali)
    • Cloud (AWS Gov Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
    • Virtualization (RHV, VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Demonstrated self-driven passion for acquiring knowledge in emerging technologies, with the dedication to personal and professional advancement
  • Bachelor’s in computer science and two years of professional experience in a cybersecurity role
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Innovate technical and procedural approaches to secure information systems without imposing substantial operational burdens
  • Execute technical deployment of security measures in adherence to NIST SP 800-53A controls, guaranteeing the safeguarding of computer systems, networks, and data
  • Confirm the optimal performance of security components, ensuring they deliver the anticipated insights into the information system through ongoing monitoring
  • Sustain the information system’s security stance by regularly applying DISA STIG configuration updates and vulnerability patches
  • Conduct independent assessments of information systems, utilizing both manual and automated compliance tools to support the acquisition or retention of DoD RMF ATO
What You Will Be Doing
  • Design and develop secure information systems architecture, including networks, servers, databases, and applications
  • Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities in existing systems and propose mitigating solutions
  • Configure and maintain security solutions to ensure they operate effectively
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies
  • Work closely with IT teams, developers, and other stakeholders to integrate security into all phases of system development and operations
