As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging product design and manufacturing, ensuring seamless production of high-quality robotics systems. You will lead efforts to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance product reliability, and drive cost-effective production strategies. Your expertise will directly impact their ability to scale production and meet the growing demand for their products. Key Responsibilities- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency.
- Process Development: Define and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including robotic assembly, precision machining, and material handling.
- Quality Control: Establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for mechanical components and assemblies, including inspections, testing protocols, and process validations.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, negotiate terms, and oversee the production of custom mechanical parts.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product yield.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects, including factory layout optimization, equipment installation, and production line automation.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and production reports.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve manufacturing challenges, including material issues, tooling problems, and assembly line inefficiencies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering, preferably in the robotics or automation industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and robotic assembly.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and certifications, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Understanding of advanced materials and their applications in robotics.
