staff-level network engineer

Job Description We’re currently partnering with a financial institution actively growing its security department. This company is in the process of hiring a staff-level network engineer with a strong cloud focus. This is a Senior role, and this individual will be the technical lead on the network engineering team.
In this position, you will play a crucial role as a valued contributor, collaborating closely with a team of esteemed security professionals. As a staff-level network engineer, you will be tasked with technical aspects related to AWS cloud and should have strong network automation experience with Python and preferably Terraform. Your responsibility will be to enhance the reliability and resiliency of their network, as well as collaborate with existing engineers, offering mentorship and working together to implement automation and healing strategies. Required Skills & Experience

• Profound expertise in AWS cloud networking
• Proficient in Python for automation tasks
• Robust skills in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Adept at utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Demonstrated proficiency in assessing and designing systems with a focus on resilience and redundancy
• Effective mentorship abilities to elevate team members' capabilities
• Sound knowledge of traditional networking principles

What You Will Be Doing • Proficiency in network management, design, and issue resolution
• Expertise in automating repetitive tasks for increased efficiency (e.g., self-service ticketing, pipelines)
• Advocate for the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 
• Provide mentorship and guidance to current team members 
• Consistently evaluate and enhance resiliency and redundancy measures
• Engage in a minimal on-call rotation with very low incident frequency (approximately 0.5 calls per week)
