Senior Software Engineer / Python / AWS / Hybrid in the Loop

Job Description Join a forward-thinking company undergoing a significant modernization, moving applications from mainframe systems to advanced AWS infrastructure. This role involves greenfield development utilizing distributed systems and event-driven architecture within AWS. As a Principal Associate, you be instrumental in ensuring the seamless migration of settlement systems that a process high volume of transactions.

Developing and maintaining microservices and APIs with an emphasis on scalability and performance, as well as using AWS services like Lambda, SQS, and Fargate are the core duties of this role. Working together with cross-functional teams to create and record systems. Although you would be brought on as an individual contributor, this engineer will have the chance to mentor and coach junior engineers as needed. Offices are located in Chicago’s downtown Loop and this is on a hybrid basis, onsite 2-3 days each week! Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ YOE
• BS in CS or related field
• Proficiency expertise in AWS services
• Microservices and API development experience
• Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Desired Skills & Experience

• DynamoDB (training available if proficient in other databases)
• Event-driven programming
• Experience with streaming or other messaging queues
• Ability to collaborate across teams
• Strong documentation skills
