Project Engineer

A global leader in energy management and automation is actively seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. This is an onsite, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm role located in Cedar Rapids, IA. It is a 1-year contract with potential for extension or conversion.

What You Will Be Doing Responsibilities:

• Responsible for engineering and project administration activities related to specific circuit breaker product families.
• Perform engineering analyses, including thermal, electromagnetic, dynamic, and structural, using experience applying basic engineering principles.
• Ensure compliance with specific ratings, product specifications, and standards requirements.
  o Participate in cross-functional teams with Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and procurement functions.
• Perform methodical problem solving to assist in product line production
• Support design activities, such as brainstorming, database management and development, design/peer reviews, and general analysis, including tolerance analysis, using experience with basic machine design.
• Generate innovative design proposals to suffice application and engineering requirements, including but not limited to 3D assemblies and new components design such as: molded plastic parts, springs, mechanisms, sheet metal parts, and insulators.
