Linux Engineer / Trading / Chicago Local

Job Description This company is a compact team comprised of software engineers, quantitative analysts, and IT experts who have developed and deploy an in-house algorithmic trading system. Their proprietary trading platform is marketed through the company's FINRA-registered broker-dealer unit. This boutique broker-dealer specializes in serving top-tier institutional clients, including hedge funds, primary dealers, and proprietary trading groups.
They need an IT System Admin / Trade Support role is an on-site position that will cover the Asian trading session hours from the company's primary office located in Chicago, IL. This team member will be responsible for monitoring and supporting both an algorithmic trade execution system as well as a web-based real-time middle and back-office risk system.

This position involves intensive monitoring of multiple systems and markets throughout the shift. The hours are Monday through Thursday 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM CST and Sunday 4 PM - 11:30 PM CST.
Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional Linux experience
• Ubuntu
• Bash scripting
• Trading industry experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working 2nd shift in IT.
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Nagios familiarity
• Experience with Windows administration.
• Industry experience coming from small – medium sized companies.
