Sr. DevOps Engineer - Remote but local to Ohio or surrounding area

Local Ohio company is in search for a Sr. DevOps Engineer. They are looking for a candidate who has experience with either MySQL/MSSQL. The company is currently using MYSQL and is looking to migrate the rest of that off into MSSQL. This candidate should also has Terraform, Light Kubernetes and Scripting experience.?

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of the database infrastructure from MySQL to MSSQL
• Build, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Docker
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or any modern scripting language
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud systems to ensure high availability and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration and system reliability

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with MySQL and MSSQL, including database migrations
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, especially Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker
• Expertise in infrastructure automation using Terraform
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and database environments
