We are seeking a talented Mechanical and/or System Engineer to join our team full-time. The successful candidate will engage with customers, account executives, and production and operation leads to understand the requirements, work with production team to identify product gaps and required modifications to work with our vendor partners to develop or modify mechanical solutions at system and rack level. The candidate will manage and coordinate design activities with our mechanical system partners to define, develop, test, qualify to deliver products for production.

- Detailed mechanical design of components, sub-assemblies, and system integration.
- Conduct extensive tolerance studies/stack ups (e.g., root sum square, worst case, etc.).
- Determine and validate mechanical design requirements for components within a system environment.
- Manage and guide detailed design development activities and associated schedules.
- Actively participate in thermal design activities and potential engineering design/modeling work. Experience with liquid cooling of systems and racks is a plus.
- Drive design optimizations and collaborate with all stakeholders on design for manufacturing enhancements.
- Create design Bill of Materials (BOM) and oversee the release of the design into manufacturing and volume production.
- Oversee the build and validation of engineering prototypes.
- Perform root cause and corrective action analysis as needed.
- BS Degree in Mechanical and/or System Engineering with hands-on experience in a related IT industry with a proven track record.
- Experience in engineering design and industrial working, specifically with server racks, systems, mechanical and thermal areas.
- Prior experience with system integration into data center rack levels and meeting environmental requirements.
- Proficient use of mechanical design tools such as Pro-E, SolidWorks, etc.
- Familiarity with thermal and structural analysis tools like FloTherm, Icepak, ANSYS, etc., is a plus.
- Experience with mechanical validation tests, including Environmental Test Engineering (ETE), vibration, and thermal testing & characterization. Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compliance (EMI/EMC) is a plus.
