Network Engineer/Cisco/Palo Alto/SDWAN/Hybrid

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our client’s IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies and Palo Alto firewalls, demonstrating a strong ability to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high-performance network environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and implement network solutions using Cisco and Palo Alto technologies to meet business requirements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues related to performance, security, and connectivity, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Security Management: Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls to protect the network from security threats and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Cisco Networking: Maintain and optimize Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points, to ensure reliable and efficient network operations.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Monitoring: Implement and utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to support network-related projects and initiatives.
• Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with Cisco and Palo Alto support services, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective use of vendor resources.
• Upgrades & Patches: Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and enhancements to keep the infrastructure current and secure.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE) highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and Palo Alto firewalls in a professional environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching, VPNs, and WLAN technologies. In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex network issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
