Job Title: Software Engineer 4 - Contingent (Platform Modernization)
Location: Irving, TX (Onsite 3 Days/Week)
Contract Duration: 12 Months

Job Overview:
The Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in modernizing a legacy application supporting over 300 critical branch banking functions, including account management, wire transfers, and safety deposit box services. This initiative focuses on enhancing the user experience using modern UI frameworks, microservices, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features and solutions.

  • Contribute to the modernization of legacy banking applications, focusing on both front-end and back-end components.

  • Design and develop microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native solutions.

  • Balance work between front-end and back-end development (50/50 split).

  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and optimizing application performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, specializing in:

  • Frontend: React JS

  • Backend: Java

  • Database: MongoDB

  • Cloud: Azure (required), OpenShift (preferred), AWS experience acceptable if strong in other areas

  • Additional Skills: Kafka (a plus, not required)

  • Proven ability to deliver end-to-end solutions within a modernization project.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

    Nice-to-Have Skills:

    • Banking/Financial services background (not mandatory but a plus)

    • Experience with Node.js (a future initiative)

    • Experience working in large-scale modernization initiatives is highly valued
