Position Title: SharePoint OnPrem Migration Specialist Location: On-Site/Hybrid in Irving, TX Duration: Long-Term Contract
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Migration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SharePoint Online migrations, with expertise in using ShareGate, PowerShell, PowerApps, and Automate platforms. This role also involves supporting server platforms, ensuring system integrity, developing requirements based on consultations, and administering large SharePoint server farms.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of content from on-premises SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online using ShareGate, PowerShell, and other tools.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing SharePoint environments, identifying potential challenges, and developing comprehensive migration strategies.
  • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate migration tasks, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Configure SharePoint Online environments to meet business requirements, including permissions, site structures, and integrations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom business solutions using PowerApps and Automate, integrating with SharePoint Online.
  • Define requirements and technical specifications based on consultations with stakeholders, scheduling bug fixes/defects with development resources, and working with management to prioritize enhancement requests for the platform.
  • Support system testing and performance testing of the platform on a regular basis to ensure the stability and reliability of SharePoint environments.
  • Administer sites, sub-sites, and libraries in accordance with organizational operations and standards.
  • Build and support large SharePoint server farms designed to meet both business and technical requirements, including high availability, disaster recovery, WAN optimization, load balancing, at-rest encryption, BLOB offloading, SSL, and Kerberos.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical incidents involving multiple large SharePoint farms, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
  • Perform system administration and support of the Global iShare service, ensuring seamless operations across ITS services globally.
  • Perform daily systems operations, monitor system activities, and ensure the smooth operation of systems facilities.
  • Support all physical and virtual server platforms, including hardware procurement, setup, monitoring, backup, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct monthly server patching to ensure the security and integrity of the environment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, configurations, troubleshooting steps, server operations, and custom PowerApps/Automate solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and end-users, to ensure that migration objectives are met and that the transition to SharePoint Online is seamless.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and administrators on SharePoint Online best practices, new features post-migration, and custom PowerApps/Automate solutions.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SharePoint migration projects, particularly migrating from on-premises to SharePoint Online.
  • Proven experience using ShareGate for SharePoint migrations, including content migration, restructuring, and permission management.
  • Strong experience in writing and executing PowerShell scripts for SharePoint administration, migration tasks, and server management.
  • Experience in designing and implementing solutions using PowerApps and Automate within the SharePoint Online environment.
  • Experience in building and managing large SharePoint server farms, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements such as high availability and disaster recovery.
  • In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2013/2016/2019, Office 365, server platforms (both physical and virtual), and global service support.
