Senior Cloud Security Engineer
Location: Irvine
A global leader in networking and smart home technology is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to help secure its cloud infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry security standards. This role will focus on implementing security solutions across multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI) and hybrid cloud environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and integrating security best practices into development processes.
About the RoleAs a key member of the security team, you will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and compliance teams to enhance cloud security, enforce policies, and respond to security threats. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and a passion for protecting critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and manage cloud security solutions for multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and potential security threats.
- Deploy and manage security tools for threat detection, incident response, and access control.
- Develop, enforce, and maintain cloud security policies aligned with industry regulations (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Work with development and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows.
- Conduct cloud security audits, penetration testing, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing recommendations for mitigation and prevention.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes.
- Communicate security risks and compliance requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support external security and compliance audits by providing necessary documentation and technical insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in cloud security, compliance, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with security compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Strong understanding of security best practices, penetration testing methodologies, and risk management.
- Familiarity with cloud security tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM, IDS/IPS).
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Experience securing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and OCI.
- Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks VM-Series NGFW.
- Experience developing and enforcing security policies.
