Staff Data Scientist
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to join their team. This role focuses on developing advanced models to enhance product search across multiple international markets. In this position, you’ll work on groundbreaking projects in search science, encompassing areas such as information retrieval, recommendation systems, natural language processing, optimization, and large-scale system design.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and product managers, to design, test, and deploy machine learning models.
- Navigate and resolve projects with high levels of ambiguity, translating business and technical requirements into actionable roadmaps.
- Perform thorough offline and A/B testing of models, delivering insights to stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains.
- Stay at the forefront of industry and academic research, applying innovative approaches to search science challenges.
- Maintain and refine machine learning models, integrating state-of-the-art research to improve scalability and effectiveness.
- Provide mentorship to early-career data scientists, serve as a technical lead, and offer subject matter expertise within the organization.
- Contribute to the research community through publications, conference presentations, and patent filings.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering, with 6+ years of experience.
- Expertise in natural language processing (NLP), search science, recommendation systems, machine learning, deep learning, optimization, and algorithm development.
- Preferred background in search or recommendation system technologies and familiarity with generative AI.
- Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, machine learning libraries, and cloud-based big data processing.
- Demonstrated success in building machine learning models, leading technical projects, and mentoring junior team members.
- Proven track record of publishing research in peer-reviewed conferences/journals or filing patents.
