A world leader in manufacturing radiation sensors for the nuclear power industry, is seeking a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Assurance Team for a hybrid, contract role in Meriden, CT. Selected applicants will bring the technical knowledge and communication skills to work with our Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments in a well-established Quality Assurance Program.

- Able to develop and apply quality inspection methods for materials, items, and components.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures for compliance to QA system requirements.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications.
- Demonstrated basic understanding of QA auditing techniques.
- Ability to analyze and resolve process issues.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
- Problem solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Effective communication skills: written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing.
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.
- Industrial manufacturing inspection experience (electrical/mechanical).
- Quality experience in the commercial nuclear industry (NRC 10CFR50 Appendix B, and ASME NQA-1).
- Experience is preferred with NRC 10CFR Part 21 (Reporting of Commercial Nuclear Defects).
- Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Previous work experience in commercial nuclear manufacturing
- Previous work experience in commercial nuclear quality auditing.
- Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
What You Will Be Doing
- Implement and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for processing materials into finished items and components.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing functions to ensure the integrity of our quality standards are maintained.
- Devise and implement inspection methods and procedures for inspecting and evaluating the items and materials in our production system.
- Implement documented control systems for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance audits of the quality system to identify deficiencies and document corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.
