Seeking a Director of Operations in Manufacturing for a full time, direct hire role in Meriden, Connecticut.
The Director of Operations is a critical leadership role within our team, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations at our Meriden, Connecticut facility. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage strategic deployment, budgets, personnel, and financial outcomes while ensuring the production of high-quality products in a highly technical setting. The Director of Operations will drive operational excellence, safety, and efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on cost control and team leadership.
- Strong background in budget management, cost control, and financial oversight.
- Experience leading and managing teams of 75 or more employees.
- In-depth understanding of safety and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive change and improve processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the electronics industry.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee and manage daily manufacturing operations to meet customer requirements and organizational goals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and drive business growth.
- Maintain and improve the quality of products delivered to customers while meeting production timelines.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of at least 75 employees across various departments.
- Provide direct oversight to key functional managers and executives within the business unit.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance within the facility.
- Promote a strong safety culture and implement best practices for workplace safety.
Financial and Strategic Oversight
- Manage budgets and cost controls to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement.
- Engage in strategic planning initiatives at the division level to align with corporate objectives.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to optimize production workflows.
- Communicate strategies, goals, and performance results to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Support key customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
