A bank headquartered in Arkansas is looking to bring a remote senior-level engineer on to their Infrastructure and Cloud Computing/Platform team to help mature their infrastructure. This team is responsible for managing and consolidating the current on-prem infrastructure while also pairing with App/Dev teams to help onboard them to use cloud infrastructure and adopt new dev projects as cloud first. The team currently consists of 10 people: 4 working in on cloud and infrastructure-as-code and 6 maintaining the on-prem infrastructure.
This engineer will help various teams onboard new projects in the cloud and embrace an infrastructure-as-code mindset. One of the biggest things they will be leaning on this person for is strong Terraform skills so they can create reusable modules for environment creation. An understanding of Kubernetes and cluster management in a cloud environment is essential for success as they move more into GKE (this group was the first to build a shared Kubernetes cluster). Lastly, having a fundamental understanding of things like network layers, DNS, and storage is needed.
Contract Duration: 6 – 12 Months

Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of relevant Cloud or DevOps experience
- Strong Terraform skills with prior experience building modules from scratch
- Experience managing Kubernetes in a cloud based environment
- Understanding of DevOps methodologies
- Cloud Engineering experience (GCP is a plus, AWS and Azure acceptable)
- Fundamental understanding of things like network layers, DNS, storage, VPC, etc.
- GCP or GKE specific experience
