DevOps Engineer / AWS / Azure / Hybrid / Phoenix

A Saas startup based in central Phoenix, AZ is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to add to their growing team. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll work with tools like GitHub Actions for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Ansible, and scripting in Bash and Python. While most infrastructure is hosted on-prem (roughly 80%), familiarity with AWS or Azure is a must. Containerization is handled through Docker and Podman, and while Kubernetes is used (mainly for testing and deployments) deep expertise isn’t required.

This role does require someone to work onsite 4 days a week in central Phoenix.


Required Skills & Experience

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or systems engineering role
• Self-starter with the ability to operate independently within the first 6 weeks
• Strong analytical thinking, with a demonstrated ability to approach problems creatively and thoroughly
• Comfortable working both autonomously and within a collaborative team environment
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration management systems like Ansible
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions or similar platforms
• Experience managing environments through Docker and/or Podman containers
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure (GovCloud experience is a bonus)

Desired Skills & Experience

• Exposure to Kubernetes, particularly for deployment and testing environments
• Competency in scripting with Python and Bash for automation tasks
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices, patching strategies, or automated testing tools
• Background in startups, fast-paced environments, or highly regulated industries
• Interest in or experience with AI/ML platforms or utilities/infrastructure sectors
