Role Overview:
As a Network Security Engineer, you will collaborate with the Head of Technology to design, implement, and maintain secure network architecture on-premises and on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our network security measures and safeguarding our information assets.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions to protect the Bank's information assets.
- Manage network security groups, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Monitor third-party security solutions for smooth operation and adherence to service levels and KPIs.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex network security issues.
- Monitor network traffic for signs of security threats and respond promptly to incidents.
- Plan and implement solutions to address existing threats and security issues.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
- Manage Identity and Access controls, ensuring secure user and service account permissions.
- Stay informed about emerging security threats and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in network engineering, telecom engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a system network engineer or information security engineer in the banking or financial industry.
- Strong knowledge of system administration, including Windows and Linux environments.
- Proficiency in network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Strong understanding of firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and IP addressing, LAN Technology, and routing fundamentals.
- Understanding of Identity Access Management technologies and protocols.
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors to implement and maintain security solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
