Team:This teamoperates and builds software for the SATREG application, an application that enables students to register for the SAT weekend test. We secure the system and the data against threats. We support the Elevating Engineering vision of the technology organization, improving the engineering experience with modern platform engineering tools, adopting a new working style called post-agilism, and alleviating DevOps burden.
Webuild, manage and deploy the complete technology stack with AWS Serverless components - Lambda,S3, SNS/SQSusing JavaScript/NodeJS, TypeScript, Frontend UI using React.

We are looking for a Senior Full stack engineer to join our team and contribute to both frontend and backend code, with immediate focus on backend code.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, candidate will be responsible for complex software development including coding, managing small sections of ongoing projects and closely adhering to deadlines. Candidate will also take responsibility for creating design specifications, unit testing, and preparing technical documentation. Candidate will ensure relationships with customers and cross-team members and are professional and meet expectations.
The College Board – a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to providing excellence and equity in education – manages a complex and comprehensive suite of data systems, data feeds and reports to support students and educators across multiple assessments, programs and services. Working within the Information Technology division and across the Operations and key business units, theSenior Full StackEngineer will analyze procedures, and design and implement solutions to attain high data quality and process automation. The Senior Full StackEngineer will design, develop and implement solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization’s goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have designed, developed,implementedand tested serverless software solutionsin support of data quality and automation. The candidate will also possess technical skills and experience in the data management domainthat will help their ability to design and develop elegant and efficient data processes and systems.Experience with automated testing of frontend and/or backend using Selenium orsimilar will be an advantage.
Required Skills:

• Minimum 6 years demonstrated experience with software development.

• Strong and evolving competence in several programming languages and technologies, working knowledge of multiple tool sets, technologies, and implementation environments

• Strong practical experience in JavaScript/Typescript based ecosystem and tools

• Demonstrated experience within AWS ecosystem primarily in serverless environment - Lambda, SNS/SQS, Dynamo, S3

• Design and development experience in building and monitoring microservices

• Demonstrated experience in developing full stack solutions using NodeJS

• Working knowledge of automated testing

• Strong knowledge of Software Design Patterns

• Working experience on CI/CD using Jenkins/AWS Code pipeline

• Fundamentals in OO and computer science foundation principles.

• Working knowledge of distributed architectural design patterns

• Knowledge of systems analysis and design (including OOAD and UML), and database design

• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and modern software engineering principles and practices

Preferred Skills:

• Working experience or knowledge working on AWS Services like Kinesis and Firehose, Open Search

• Working experience or knowledge working on AWS Glue and Spark.

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

• Experience building infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation or similar scripting techniques

• Experience working on Agile teams with the scrum team member attitude – willingness to support the Team to be successful in any area necessary

• Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud supported programming languages like NodeJS, Python.

• Fluency with CI/CD toolsets such as: CloudFormation,BitBucket, Jenkins, Ansible

• Ability to research and propose new technologies

• Mentor junior developers

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or other advanced degree(s)

• Relevant AWS or other professional certifications

Skills: Amazon DynamoDB, AWS S3, AWS Server-less Architecture, AWS Serverless: Lambda, AWS - SNS/SQS, JavaScript (ES6), monitoring high frequency data services, Node.js, React js, Automated API integration testing, Automated E2E browser testing
