Grow your career as a Senior Data Modeler with an innovative global bank in Rutherford, NJ. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.

Will be leading a team of Data Modelers, Data Analysts and Database Developers to design, build and maintain relational and dimensional databases supporting multiple business initiatives/work streams. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you.

Contract Duration: 8+ Months

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of project experience as Database Modeler/Data Warehouse Architect within a distributed, service-based enterprise environment for financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience creating conceptual, logical and physical models (ERD, normalized and dimensional models).
  • Previous experience with Metadata management strategies and implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL design and development best practices.
  • Experience with Tools like ERwin Data Modeler tools/Power Designer.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing Big Data Storage Technologies.
  • Previous experience conducting requirements gathering and design sessions with customers.
  • Previous experience producing written deliverables for technical designs.
  • Understanding of indexing, partitioning and data design performance considerations for industry standard DBMS.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle and Release Management.
  • Ability to design, organize, and implement module, perform system testing, plan and automate tasks to maintain existing system.
  • Ability to research and troubleshoot application problems.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with systems/applications in Risk and Controls technology for financial institutions.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, build and maintain the transactional/operational and analytical data stores.
  • Maintain the existing data warehouses and design subject area wise data marts / cubes to facilitate aggregation, slicing and dicing of data by reporting tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy.
  • Undertake extraction, transformation and population of the data warehouse and data mart.
  • Evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration.
  • Interface with Data governance teams to leverage central data repositories.
  • Interface with business and technical teams on requirements and functional analysis.
  • Provide expertise in technical analysis and solving technical issues during project delivery.
  • Provide Technical Leadership to a team of developers, modelers and analysts.
  • Work proactively & independently to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address project delivery risks.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team during Product Test phase.
  • Provide bug fixes and level-3 support to troubleshoot Production problems whenever needed.
  • Application Database Performance tuning.
