Uninterruptable Power Supply Field Service Engineer

We are helping a third part uninterruptible power supply company hire fulltime field service engineers for their Great Austin and San Antonio locations. This will be a home based job that requires you to go to different sites and assist with battery installation and upgrades.

The role involves commissioning, maintaining, and providing emergency support for power electronics at customer sites within a regional area. Key responsibilities include conducting design reviews, preparing test procedures, overseeing on-site testing, and performing preventive maintenance and emergency response. The position requires attending training on OEM units and SOPs, troubleshooting with technical support, and contributing to Methods of Procedures (MOPs), with consultations on complex issues.


Required Skills & Experience

• OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Liebert, Emerson, Vertiv, APC, Schneider, or Eaton.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment at the component level, including UPS, batteries, PDUs, and STS.
• Proficient in using hand tools and test equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer relations.
• Capable of delivering high-quality customer service and completing Field Service Reports promptly.
• Strong understanding of equipment manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness.
• Physical capability to perform repeated bending and lifting to 100 lbs. as needed.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.
• Knowledge of general computer hardware and software applications.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 5-10+ years of experience in the critical power industry.
• Previous experience with third-party UPS systems.
• Technical degree.
• Prior military experience and training.
