Senior/Staff Software Engineer / Cybersecurity / Hybrid / San Jose

An exciting new cybersecurity startup in San Jose has a mission to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks for large enterprises. Founded by an entrepreneur with a proven track record of successful exits, they are developing cutting-edge technology to bring advanced security solutions to global enterprises. 

They are looking for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to help lead the design, implementation, and scaling of their complex software systems. Having the opportunity to work closely with the CEO, engineering, and product teams to solve customer problems. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Be at the forefront of building an advanced analytics product designed to detect and mitigate cyber threats.
• Take ownership of the design, implementation, and scalability of robust, complex software systems that meet enterprise demands.
• Create enterprise-grade identity and access management products that set new standards in security.
• Engage with challenging technologies in Security, Large-Scale Distributed Systems, AI, and Cloud, bringing innovation to every project.
• Focus on backend development to ensure the cloud-based software is resilient, scalable, and secure.

Requirements:

• 8+ Years of Experience in backend development
• Proficiency in Java is preferred, but experience with Go or Python is also valued. (Bonus points for Java + Go).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Background in large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AD or AWS).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience leading a team or mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, identity, or security solutions.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or AI/ML (bonus).
