Grow your career as a Senior Data Governance Analyst with an innovative global bank. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.

Join one of the world's most renowned global banks and trusted brand with over 200 years of continuously evolving financial services worldwide. Will be focused on designing and implementing target state infrastructure and data flows to support the company’s Enterprise risk functions. Will also be required to expand and strengthen governance across the systems, aligning to new data management policies. Will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate definition and execution of Risk requirements according to the company’s Data Governance Policy and Standards. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Governance or Data Analytics in banking and financial services industry.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Analysis/Data Investigation.
  • Experience as Technical Business Analyst.
  • Experience supporting data quality initiatives, aligning business processes with data, implementing technology solutions, supporting data standards/policies, and data-related issue management and remediation efforts.
  • Thorough understanding of strategic direction of risk processes, systems and reporting, the company’s Data Operating Model, and a solid conceptual/practical grounding in Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, in addition to strong presentation / communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
  • Experience with data management processes, tools, and applications, including process mapping and lineage toolsets.
  • Strong knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid/iterative development methodologies, and data governance tools.
  • Knowledge of business analysis procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas.
  • Comfortable working with large data volumes and be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and flowcharting and developing presentations.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Ensuring that prioritized data quality issues are defined and remediated, that data requirements and controls are implemented, and that focus remains on the scope and commitments of each phase of the Risk Consent Order Data Quality Plans to ensure proof of Risk Reduction.
  • Drive execution of critical aspects of data governance policy and data strategy.
  • Manage resource allocation of work on key projects/initiatives.
  • Will identify gaps in data quality controls to reduce risk, partner and collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management group's data consumers on data quality remediation challenges.
  • Will document data flows, processes, and procedures.
  • Will ensure data requirements are implemented, and that focus remains on the scope and commitments of each phase of the Risk Consent Order Data Quality Plans to ensure proof of Risk Reduction.
  • Partner with data consumers to agree on the scope of critical data quality challenges and ensure that the data operating model is implemented to reduce data risk.
  • Remediate issues partnering with various business and technology functions. Help build a deep, comprehensive, and documented understanding of the company’s key data, data processes, and data flows. Partner with business data owners required to ensure maintenance of key artifacts and overall data quality improvements.
  • Lead the consolidation of disparate information about the data, as well as ensure a sustainable understanding of how data flows through operational and analytic platforms and assist Data owner in institutionalizing an enhanced understanding of information assets at an aggregate level, data concept level, and data attribute level.
  • Partner with other colleagues within the company’s businesses and various technology teams to build the knowledge and assess the current state of the businesses’ information infrastructure.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce the company’s data management risks, as well as support the cultural shift toward active data management and ownership.
  • Identify data quality “hot spots” or points of exposure. Determine strategies to improve data quality controls and monitoring routines to de-risk points of data quality vulnerabilities using approved tools and solutions.
  • Create or support the creation of data and system flow documentation and process maps. Work to align other key data capabilities including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps, and training materials with the data and system process flows.
  • Institute and manage change management processes related to data and system flow documentation and related data governance procedures.
  • Identify and support opportunities continuously to streamline and simplify the execution of data transformation initiatives and data capabilities.
  • Be a trusted and informed advisor/partner to regional teams and lines of business staff members.
  • Prepare and present status updates and solutions to stakeholders, business partners, and technology teams in a succinct manner to drive decisions and actions.
  • Lead meetings and working sessions to solve issues, challenges, and risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
  • Promote “data as an asset” and influence culture change to make the organization increasingly more data driven.
  • Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support.
  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Interpret data and analyzing results using statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Understand current data processes and business requirements to help determine new and innovative ways to provide end-to-end solutions.
