Senior DevOps

Description of the Role This is a software company that develops custom internal solutions for clients, primarily in the HR and payroll sectors. They are currently assembling an AI-focused team to integrate artificial intelligence into their software. For four consecutive years, they've ranked among the top 500 fastest-growing companies. With offices in Chicago, Phoenix, and Poland, the company is preparing for a significant modernization initiative across all its applications, which includes a comprehensive overhaul of its cloud infrastructure.
This team is seeking a senior-level expert to optimize their AWS usage. The situation is unique because many of their applications are running on Windows VMs in EC2 instances, using SQL and other technologies. They need someone with experience in modernizing applications and managing container deployment and provisioning to revamp their current approach, as their costs are high due to their current use of EC2s. This position offers significant autonomy to shape the technical roadmap and determine the best way forward. Ideally, we're looking for someone from a SaaS background who understands production environments.
Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of DevOps experience in an AWS native environment
Desired Skills & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
Tech Breakdown: 90% AWS
10% Azure
Daily Responsibilities: 30%- greenfield and new projects
70%- adding new services and supporting the dev teams in how to use the new platform and new tooling
