Our client is seeking a Director of Electrical and Firmware Engineering to lead and oversee all aspects of electrical and firmware development across the company, including the R&D department. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for shaping technical direction and driving execution from early product concept through to full-scale production.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, cross-functional leader with deep expertise in both electrical and firmware engineering. They must have a proven track record of successfully bringing complex hardware products to market and prior leadership experience at the director or senior management level within consumer electronics, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or a similar high-tech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead company-wide electrical and firmware engineering efforts from R&D to production.

  • Manage and grow a high-performing engineering team.

  • Drive system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making.

  • Ensure seamless integration of hardware and firmware with cross-functional teams.

  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, processes, and quality standards.

  • Oversee timelines, budgets, and resource planning to meet product delivery goals.

  • Guide technology roadmaps and ensure product reliability, manufacturability, and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of electrical and/or firmware engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.

  • Demonstrated success leading products from concept through production.

  • Expertise in circuit design, PCB development, embedded firmware (C/C++), and system integration.

  • Strong background in hardware/software co-design and product lifecycle management.

  • Effective communicator with experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
