Overview: Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-growing robotics startup. As a key member of their engineering team, you will lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems for innovative robotic products. This role requires a deep understanding of robotics principles, strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of robotics technology.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development efforts for robotic systems from concept to production.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and product designers to integrate mechanical components into robotic platforms.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to optimize mechanical designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Prototype, test, and iterate on mechanical designs to validate functionality and performance under various conditions.
- Specify and source materials, components, and suppliers for manufacturing robotic systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements in all mechanical designs.
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to team growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automation.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mechanical systems or products from concept to production.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) for 3D modeling and design.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools to optimize designs.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, injection molding, etc.) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with robotic kinematics, dynamics, and motion control concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
