Senior DevOps Engineer

A SaaS company in Arlington, VA is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their growing team. They work on a highly distributed networked technology evaluation platform that allows government agencies to acquire new technologies and scout innovation. This position requires 4 days onsite in their brand new office located in Arlington.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and Deployment: Create scalable, available, performant, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Management: Configure and manage VMs, EC2, containers (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless functions.
• Networking: Implement and manage VPC components like VPNs, subnets, load balancers, and firewalls.
• IAM Policies: Develop and manage role-based IAM policies and AWS AD service configurations.
• Automation: Utilize scripting (bash, Python), Terraform, and Ansible for task automation and server hardening.
• DevSecOps: Use GitLab for pipeline automation with AWS containers, and configure security tools (Splunk, Trend Micro).
• Monitoring: Optimize cloud resource performance and availability, monitor usage, and implement backup strategies.
• Compliance: Ensure system compliance with security standards (GDPR, FISMA, NIST 800-53 FedRAMP) and perform regular security assessments.
• Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure and hosted software stacks.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5 or more years of experience with AWS
• Terraform
• Docker and Kubernetes

• Scripting
