DevOps Engineer
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and deploying various configurations of the company’s application across diverse environments, including air-gapped classified networks. You will help shape their system architecture, enhance CI/CD pipelines, refine Helm charts, and guide our deployment strategies. As the first dedicated DevOps hire, you’ll have a significant impact on how they deploy code to highly sensitive environments, tackling challenging infrastructure problems related to efficiently and reliably deploying LLMs and other large-scale models.
The company is located in the D.C. Metro Area and will remain 100% Remote.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Collaborate on designing the architecture of a system that integrates multiple AI models, backend APIs, and a frontend web application.
- Develop and optimize Dockerfiles to build efficient, secure, and hardened Docker images with minimal CVEs.
- Write and enhance Helm charts to support deployments across various Kubernetes clusters, including cloud-based and on-premises setups.
- Improve GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows to ensure seamless, robust updates to applications and dependencies.
- Make informed technical decisions to maintain compliance with standards such as FedRAMP.
- Contribute to company strategy, help cultivate our culture and take on diverse responsibilities as part of our core team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Eligible for a U.S. DoD security clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to identify and solve challenges independently.
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD processes.
- Experience in system design and end-user interaction.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript (preferred).
- Experience with LLMs, particularly open-source models (preferred).
