Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
This client is looking for someone who has experience interacting with federal agencies such as DARPA, DCSA, and OSI PJ, managing compliance efforts in eMASS, maintaining and auditing program security packages, and administering secure computer networks. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and DoD cybersecurity standards, as well as developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting documentation.
The candidate must have an active DoD security clearance (minimum Secret, prefer Top Secret).
The company is located in Rosslyn, VA and will be 5 days onsite.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Implement and enforce security controls as directed by the Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
- Support engineers during deployment to customer environments
- Act as the primary liaison to Government agencies on security matters and authorization processes
- Coordinate with external auditors and assessors during system evaluations and inspections
- Perform routine vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and compliance audits
- Monitor system activity, investigate security incidents, and lead remediation efforts
- Conduct security impact assessments for system updates and contribute to documentation
- Provide hands-on security support for internal project teams and external customers
- Lead routine security awareness training sessions for staff
- Review user access regularly and manage access control systems to preserve system integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience in a government contracting environment
- DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent) required
- Demonstrated experience implementing NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53 controls
- Proven success preparing Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages
- In-depth knowledge of network security, system hardening, and vulnerability management
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools and security monitoring solutions
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
