Our client, a nonprofit in the global humanitarian aid space, is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources UKG Specialist to lead the optimization and administration of its newly implemented UKG Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This senior-level role will serve as the internal UKG expert, supporting a small HR team by enhancing system functionality, improving HR business processes, and training international teams on platform usage. This is a fully remote role operating on Eastern Time (EST) hours; preference for candidates based in the DC metro area.
Essential Job Functions
UKG System Administration

Act as the subject matter expert on all UKG modules (Recruitment, Core HR, Benefits, Performance), overseeing configuration, workflows, permissions, and data quality.

Support ongoing optimization efforts by identifying and implementing UKG-driven process improvements across the employee lifecycle.

Collaborate with HR leadership to align UKG capabilities with strategic HR goals.

Serve as the primary liaison with UKG support and internal IT for system maintenance, issue resolution, and updates.

Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and user guides for global HR teams.
Training & Stakeholder Support

Deliver live and recorded training to international HR teams and users, supporting adoption and effective use of the UKG platform.

Provide daily system support and troubleshooting to HR team members and field staff.

Lead user onboarding, Q&A sessions, and ongoing knowledge sharing to ensure consistency and confidence in platform use.
Reporting & Analytics

Build and maintain custom reports and dashboards to support HR metrics, audits, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.

Conduct regular data integrity audits and assist with compliance reporting such as EEO-1, VETS-4212, and Form 5500.

Partner with HR and business units to deliver insights that improve processes and outcomes.
Required Skills and Experience

Extensive hands-on experience with UKG (UltiPro), especially in a system administrator or specialist role

2–4+ years of HR experience (generalist or operations focus preferred)

Strong ability to design, implement, and optimize HR workflows within UKG

Experience delivering virtual training and user support to diverse, global teams

Proficiency in building and customizing reports and dashboards in UKG

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data accuracy

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred

Experience working with nonprofits, international NGOs, or federal contractors is a plus

High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
