A growing insurance company based in Bedford Park, IL, is seeking a full-time Data Engineer to join their team and support operations, claims processing, and business reporting for regional carriers and partners. The company is currently modernizing its data infrastructure to create a scalable, cloud-friendly data ecosystem.
The first 90 days of this role will be fully onsite, after which the position will transition to a hybrid schedule. They are ideally looking for an engineer with a strong SQL/SSIS background who is eager to gain experience with Azure Data Lake and Synapse Analytics. This role is perfect for an engineer who is ready to grow their skills and learn new technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
• 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL
• Experience with SSIS and SSRS
• Experience with ETL concepts and production data workflows
• Work with cloud technologies such as Azure, Synapse, or similar
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Work or exposure to Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Power BI
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata or data quality frameworks
• Experience working in agile environments and working with C#, .NET data related context

Daily Responsibilities
• Maintain and optimize SQL Server workflows, including queries, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and SSRS reports.
• Perform data quality checks, prepare datasets for reporting, and support analytics teams.
• Assist with cloud migration (Azure ADLS/Synapse) and automate recurring processes.
• Collaborate with developers on data integrations and support minor frontend/reporting tasks.
