Position Overview: They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for their medical devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on medical device development. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality products that meet regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for medical devices, including concept generation, schematic design, PCB layout, and prototyping.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues early in the development process.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and biomedical engineers, to integrate electrical systems into overall device architecture.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and FDA regulations.
- Perform thorough testing and validation of electrical systems, analyzing performance data and making recommendations for improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
- Support manufacturing activities, including troubleshooting electrical issues and optimizing processes for scalability and efficiency.
- Stay current with advances in electrical engineering and medical device technology, applying new knowledge to drive innovation and improve product performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on medical device development.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer or Eagle.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, including microcontrollers, sensors, and power management.
- Experience with electromechanical systems integration and interface design.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards, including ISO 13485 and IEC 60601.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of leading projects from concept to commercialization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
