System Engineer / Hybrid / Bluffton, SC

A client in the MSP space looking to hire a Senior System Engineer. They are rapidly growing and acquiring more clients throughout the US. Right now, they have clients in the Bluffton, SC area and they need an engineer to help oversee their IT needs. Tech wise, they are looking for a senior system engineer who can help with their virtualization and cloud environment. In addition to having a focus on project work and incident response (IR), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing various IT projects that contribute to the enhancement, stability, and scalability of the client’s technology infrastructure. This is a full-time direct hire hybrid role 2-3 days onsite in Bluffton, SC.

They are ideally looking for engineers that are willing to travel, have relevant work experience with incident response, remediation, and recovery practices, proficiency in system engineering/administration and delivering on complex IT projects. In addition to working with network protocols, hardware configuration, software deployment, virtualization, and cloud platforms. Any relevant industry certifications Microsoft or CCNA/CCNP are a plus.


Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Ability to travel
• Incident response, remediation and recovery practices
• Prior experience in system engineering and delivering on IT projects
• Proficiency in system administration, network protocols, hardware configuration, and software deployment
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies – VMWare and or Hyper-V
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms – Azure
• Familiar with security principles and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
• Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments

Desired Skills & Experience

• Any relevant industry certifications are a plus - such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), etc.
