Our client is a cutting-edge AI security technology company revolutionizing the way physical environments are scanned, monitored, and secured. Their proprietary platform leverages artificial intelligence, real-time imaging, and advanced sensing to detect threats with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

They are seeking a hands-on, visionary Director of Electrical & Firmware Engineering to lead the development of embedded systems and electronics that power our AI-driven security scanning devices. You will be responsible for overseeing hardware architecture, board design, firmware development, and integration of sensors and processors into robust and scalable security products. This role requires a unique blend of strategic leadership and technical depth in electrical and embedded systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software, AI/ML, mechanical, and product to bring breakthrough security technologies to market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of electrical and firmware engineers.

  • Architect and design high-performance embedded hardware systems for AI-enabled security scanning products.

  • Oversee development of real-time firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded processors.

  • Manage board-level design, power systems, sensor integration, and high-speed interfaces.

  • Collaborate with software, AI, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver end-to-end product solutions.

  • Define technical roadmaps, system requirements, and engineering best practices.

  • Lead bring-up, testing, and validation of prototypes and production systems.

  • Drive hardware and firmware reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, CE).

  • Own vendor relationships for key components, contract manufacturers, and test partners.

  • Champion a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical and embedded system design, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience developing embedded systems for real-time applications, ideally in imaging, robotics, or security domains.

  • Expertise in board design (schematic, layout, bring-up) and embedded firmware development (C/C++, RTOS).
