IT Infrastructure Engineer

This enterprise located in the greater Boston area is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer for a full-time position. Although the role is remote, the ideal candidate is located in the New England area and has 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure engineering with a strong jack-of-all-trades skillset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain various IT infrastructure systems across multiple environments, with a focus on LAN/WAN, virtualization, and general IT support.
• Provide senior-level support for troubleshooting, system performance optimization, and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
• Work across various technologies to support networking, hardware, and software solutions in the enterprise environment.
• Manage and support virtualized environments, network configurations, and connectivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with business needs, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
• Implement best practices for infrastructure management, backup and recovery, and security protocols.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure engineering, including LAN/WAN, virtualization, and general IT support.
• Strong proficiency with networking technologies (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
• Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to IT infrastructure systems, network, hardware, and software.
• Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and other system administration tasks.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with automation tools like PowerShell, Ansible, or similar.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT management frameworks.
