Lead Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

Our client in the Robotics space is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in mechatronics to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex mechanical design projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and to work on cutting edge robotic products. 

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, analysis, and development of mechatronic systems for advanced robotics products.
  • Mechanical Design: Oversee the creation of 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and prototypes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electronic, and control systems seamlessly.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and solve complex engineering challenges, including dynamic modeling, thermal analysis, and structural integrity.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets while mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Testing & Validation: Define and execute rigorous testing protocols to validate the performance, durability, and safety of mechatronic systems.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Work with stakeholders to translate customer requirements into practical design solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and implement best practices in mechatronics and robotics design.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
    • Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and computational modeling.
    • Knowledge of sensors, actuators, and control systems integration.
    • Familiarity with robotics standards and safety protocols.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience working in the robotics or automotive industry
