Lead Opto-Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and validation of opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced laser systems, including optical mounts, alignment mechanisms, beam delivery components, and thermal management solutions.

Conduct detailed tolerance analyses, thermal and structural simulations, and vibration modeling to ensure precise alignment and long-term stability of optical components.

Support system integration activities such as optical alignment, mechanical assembly, and performance testing in both laboratory and production environments.

Participate in design reviews, prototyping, and troubleshooting efforts, including root cause analysis of mechanical and optical performance issues.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a closely related field.

8–15 years of experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on opto-mechanical systems, laser packaging, or precision instrumentation.

Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), optical layout software (Zemax or equivalent a plus), and GD&T.

Experience designing systems with precision alignment, thermal sensitivity, and optical cleanliness requirements.

Familiarity with optical components (lenses, mirrors, fiber couplers, beam splitters) and their integration into compact, stable mechanical assemblies.
