Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineering Architect to lead the design and development of advanced robotics mechatronic systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. You will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing the mechanical architecture of cutting-edge robotic systems while working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Develop and implement the mechanical system architecture for robotic platforms, ensuring optimal integration of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
- Prototyping and Testing: Design, prototype, and validate complex mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Systems Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechatronic systems.
- Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineers, mentoring the team on best practices in mechanical design and system integration.
- Analysis and Optimization: Conduct FEA, thermal, and vibration analysis to optimize mechanical designs for performance and durability.
- Material Selection: Identify and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet system requirements.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges during development and production.
- Documentation: Generate detailed mechanical design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
- Innovation: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical designs, staying abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on robotics, mechatronics, or related fields.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo).
- Strong knowledge of mechatronic systems and their integration.
- Expertise in thermal, structural, and vibration analysis.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Hands-On Expertise: Proven ability to lead by example through hands-on involvement in prototyping and system assembly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for articulating complex ideas and presenting technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with autonomous systems, AI-driven robotics, or industrial automation.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance for robotics or mechatronic systems.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies in a hardware environment.
